UGANDA: Scandinavian, Busscar Support A-1 Challenge
TRANSPORT companies Busscar Uganda Limited and Scandinavian Express have boosted the MTN women Basketball league champions A-1 Challenge ahead of the East Central and Southern Africa Basketball Club Championship scheduled for April 25-30 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The General Manager Busscar Mr. Salim Omar Bongo handed seven return tickets to the skipper of A-1 Challenge Jennifer Mwenyango yesterday at the company's head offices. Bongo also offered a subsidsed fee to the rest of the eight players who will be travelling to Nairobi for the regional event.
Scandinavian Express country Manager Mr Faisal Mohammed also boosted the team with five more return tickets that he handed over to three team members. " We are giving the regional tournament our first try and hope to return with the trophy," said senior player Mavita Ali.
The men's Nkumba Marines will also represent Uganda.
