Marines vs KCB Lions

AFTER a false start in the regional clubs championships, Ugandan league queens A-1 Challenge yesterday recovered with a 74-56 win over National University of Rwanda at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
It was A-I's first win in the competition after the 70-37 opening loss to Kenya's women champions KPA.

Betty Namukasa and Josephine Namayega led the side to the much needed win.
The duo were good cover in the absence of point guard Gloria Kyomugisha (right) who got injured in the first two minutes.

The Ugandan side were to play their third game today against Berco Stars but the Burundi champions were yet to arrive in Kenya by yesterday.
Meanwhile, Uganda's men representatives Nkumba University Marines had their first game of the tournament against JKT postponed because the Tanzanians had also not yet arrived in Kenya.

Marines today return to the courts against defending champions KCB Lions of Kenya. The Ugandans hope to get the maximum points from this game so as to qualify for the semi finals.
Falcons (2000) and Lady Bucks are the only Ugandan sides to have won the tourney.
