KENYA: Ulinzi floor Coast Youth Centre

National premier league basketball champions, Ulinzi, defeated Coast Youth Centre 70-46 in a tough match at the Mombasa Baptist High School grounds at the weekend.

The home side displayed some flashes of brilliance in the first few minutes, although the soldiers outclassed them in all the departments.

Coast Youth’s Michael Shikuku and Ulinzi’s Ancent Wafula had quite a good start, scoring three pointers within the first few minutes. By the end of the first quarter, the soldiers had already established a 17-14 lead. At the break, they were leading 25-22.

Wafula was the top scorer of the game with 22 points, while Richard Osano and Victor Odende scored 17 and 14 points respectively. Philip Amenyi scored 14 points for Coast Youth Centre, while Sammy Chone had 11 points.
