KENYA: New Team in KBF League
Kenya's newest team, Yana, has been included in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) women's Premier League.
They will meet KCB Lioness when the 2006 season gets underway at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium on Saturday.
Yana, who have promised to give their opponents a run for their money while giving their best, was formed two months ago. They got the KBF nod to play in the league this month.
KBF fixtures secretary, Steve Nyakina, confirmed their inclusion."They have been admitted and have agreed to abide by the rules. They have everything in place, including a sponsor," he said.
Yana will be sponsored by Sameer Africa. They have reportedly recruited experienced players and are all rearing to go come Saturday.
"We will not reveal the identity of our players now. You will see who they are on Saturday," said one of players, who is said to be instrumental in the team's formation.
