SADOLIN Power dominated proceedings to dethrone defending champions Crane High 40-33 and clinch the fourth Miracle Challenger series championship at the weekend.

To do so, Power took early control of the match and curbed stellar efforts by Crane High’s Steven Okias (below) and tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) Julius Lutwama, who combined for 25 points overall as they struggled in vain to narrow the 7-point deficit.

Power’s victory meant that they walked away with a sh0.1m cash prize as Crane High settled for the sh50,000 runners-up fee.

In the women’s category, Kampala City Council (KCC) Leopards claimed their first title of the season with a 25-16 win over MUK-Sparks in the Miracle anniversary celebration cash prize final at Rubaga Cathedral grounds.

KCC comfortably led 13-0 early in the first quarter but had to regroup after Sparks’ point guard Olivia Mulwana nailed back-to-back 3-pointers and a free throw bringing the score to 13-8 before Eva Adokorach converted two lay-ups to maintain KCC’s lead.

Becky Akullo won the MVP award thanks to her tally of five points, three assists for the Leopards. Akullo was ably assisted by Miriam Hamala and Connie Siima as the team claimed a sh70,000 cash prize.
