UGANDA: Hoops season opener on today
THE MTN Basketball league men and women champions Nkumba University Marines and A-I Challenge will today tussle for their first trophy of the season when take part in the Miracle invitational tournament.
The 4th edition of the Miracle basketball club organised MBC Challenger Series will this morning tip off at the club's home courts at Miracle Center Cathedral, Rubaga.
However, Marines faces stiff challenge from rivals Sadolin Power, the side they defeated in three sets of the best of five finals series, enroute to their national league honours last year.
Tournament defending champions Crane High School, Earthquakes, and new comers Uganda Christian University (UCU)-Mukono are the other out side teams that will join Miracle sides A and B.
The six sides will be grouped in two pools A and B for a round robin meeting from where the top teams from each group will meet in the finals.
In the women's category, MTN league champions A-I will be out to battle against rivals Makerere Sparks and KCC. Cash awaits all winners.
