UGANDA: Records fall at street bash

THREE new records were set in the dunking, And-1 skills challenge and rapping events at the street basketball bash at YMCA courts over the weekend, reports Gloria Kyomugisha.

The winner of the dunking event, Joseph Ikong, pulled off a 360-degree windmill erasing his previous best — a double-handed slam at the same venue.

Ikong faced a stiff challenge from Michael Olweny until the last round when he pulled off an unchallenged windmill slam.

Olweny managed a spot dunk on his third attempt and settled for second place.

Hakeem Iga retained the And-1 challenge title, improving on his previous single ball with spinning displays.

The rapping battle went to Arnold Kiwanuka who rhythmically rapped 23 words per minute.
