SEYCHELLES : Heat scorch Jazz in game three
RELEGATED to the Men’s division 1B league at the end of the 2005 season, Beau Vallon Heat avoided making the drop to the lowest league here by winning the Men’s division 1B/2 play-off decider on Monday October 30 at Victoria Gymnasium.
Boasting some good young players after losing all of their old guards when they lost their Men’s division 1A status, the Heat scorched LMS Jazz 49-44 to preserve their place in the Men’s division 1B league.
Recent and unexpected winners of the Men’s division 1B/2 Top-of-the-table tournament after beating Men’s division 2 winners Juniors 64-62 in the final, LMS Jazz will play in the lowest division for at least another season.
The Heat, who lost Hansel Tirant with five personal fouls, were led in scoring by Malick Maïche with 13 points.
Beau Vallon narrowly won game one on a 68-63 score, but Men’s division two runners-up LMS Jazz evened the series with a 76-53 win in the second match.
