NIGERIA : Pillars, Dolphins Get Date for Zone Three FIBA Africa Champions Cup Qualifiers


Kano Pillars Basketball Club and Mark Mentors, as well as winners of the 2015 Zenith Bank Women League, Dolphins of Lagos and silver medalists, First Bank of Lagos, will begin their campaign in the FIBA 2015 Africa Champions Cup zone three qualifiers from November 5 to 12 at the Stade L'Amite, Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Eight countries in the zone, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria and Togo are to present two teams in the men and women category.
According to the president of the zone, Sam Ahmedu, "Teams are expected to arrive Cotonou on November 4 and depart on the 12.
The qualifier is a prelude to the final round slated for Angola between November 2 and December 19, 2015.
In other fixtures, the Zone One qualifiers will hold between November 3 and November 7 in Tunisia, while Cape Verde will stage the men's qualifier in Zone two from October 28 through to 31.
Zone Four games for men and women is scheduled for November 7 through 15 in Congo, while the Zone Five qualifiers have already been decided in Rwanda as Gezira of Egypt getting the ticket for the final round in the men category, while Berco Stars of Burundi and KCCA of Uganda qualified in the women category.
Zone Seven has also produced its final round qualifiers with ASCUT and SEBAM, both of Madagascar, booking their places for the final round championship, but Zone Six will be decided in Angola between October 29 and November 5.
