The KIU Titans passed their second test of the 2015 National Basketball League.
The kasanga based institutional side saw off last year’s finalists Tiger Head Power 77-69 on Friday night at Lugogo.
Chris Omanye scored team high 14 points to pace Titans (6-1) in a game that got off a mean first quarter that Power edged 12-11.
The game opened up in the second quarter but remained close and KIU won the frame 20-16 to go into halftime with a 3 point lead.
On return for the third period, Titans got off a 9-0 run to stretch the lead to double figures. The Titans did not sustain the double digit lead but were infront until the final buzzer.
Recruits, Geoffrey Soro and Norman Blick contributed  had 11 points apiece for KIU and Francis Sokoroza contributed 13 points.
Sudi Ulanga who fought gallantly to bring Power back in the game in the final quarter netted game high 18 points in a losing effort.  Micheal Makiadi and Joseph Ikong contributed 12 points each.
Meanwhile, guard, Joan Muchiruku scored 13 points and big, Sharine Karungi added 12 points as Gladiators edged Magic Stormers 49-48 for thei first win of the season.
Jackie Natokyo and Monica Apako had 15 and 13 points respectively for Stormers.
