KIU Titans Vs Our Saviour 6:30pm (YMCA)
KIU Titans may have made the most noise in the off season with three
major additions that may have made them straight up contenders but Our
Saviour have made the most business. In fact all players at Our Saviour
are new as the team was only formed a few months ago.
In their first season in Ugandan Basketball after acquiring the NBL
place from UCU JV, Our Saviour started off by raiding Falcons for Syrus
Kiviiri, Steven ‘Duxx’ Mwesigye and Yves Kalambayi. Then picked Sunday
Okot from UCU Canons.
The quartet will form the core of Our Saviour when the new side takes
on university outfit KIU Titans tonight in the Airtel National
Basketball League at YMCA.
KIU Titans have shown that they will compete this season going by the
pre-season tournaments and couldn’t get a better way to get off their
season started than facing a team with competitive players in Our
Saviour.
With Geoffrey Soro looking to get back to the scoring machine he was
three years ago, Edwin Katerega gaining confidence and Norman Blick
running the wings, Our Saviour’s front court have a lot of work on their
hands at the defensive end.
There is not much difference in the teams' back courts and will be interesting to see how they match up.
