KENYA : NBA Play Off Semis O Resume At Railways Cub This Weekend


THE 2014 Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) play-off semi-finals resume at the Railways Club this weekend. Top seed Equity Bank and Strathmore University will meet in the women's final should they shake off the challenge from Daystar University and Footprints in Game 3 of the best of five series. They have a strong 2-0 series lead going into this tie on Saturday.
The men's semis is all tied at 1-1 with top seed MKU Thika and Strathmore University battling from behind to draw level against Emyba and Don Bosco respectively. Both MU and 'Strath' battled for national honours in Kisumu where the Thika side gained promotion. MKU will parade their multi-talented five of Gaston Simidi, Beneah Musibi, Daniel Lubutse, Lameck Namwini and Robert Juma against Collins Ochilo's troops. Strathmore have Keith Adams to bank on against four-time NBA scoring leader Joel Atebe and Don Obiga.
There will be classification matches that will see 4-Christ who qualified for the national Division One take on Ulinzi for position five and six. Gladiators play Parklands Arya Girls and Zetech University meet University of Nairobi 'Dynamites' in another classification tie. The league play-off matches were shelved to give teams time to travel to the lake-side town for the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) provincial play-offs to determine the two sides to be promoted to the national Division One League.
