ZAMBIA : Hawks halt Pacers

THE Hawks picked up a vital 75-65 win against title contenders UNZA Pacers as the ZBA Super League gains momentum in the third series of the season.
The two teams went into the week 20 match level after the two series but with the different objectives.
Pacers were looking to keep in touch with league leaders Matero Magic, while Hawks were playing to consolidate their fourth position.
The win pushed Hawks to 31 points and fourth position, but Pacers lost ground on Magic as they trail the league leaders by three points though with a game in hand.

Magic travelled to Mazabuka and came back with all two points after a convincing 79-35 win to increase their points at the top to 37 while Comets remained rooted to the bottom with only 20 points.

Third-placed Napsa Hurricanes went level on points with Pacers after beating Spartans 80-50 and increased their chances of fighting for the title while their opponents remained on seventh position.

The battle to climb into the top four has also gained momentum where fifth-placed LCC Looters beat sixth-placed Green Eagles 69-54 and Green Buffaloes beat Junior Looters 95-83.

In the women’s league, Hot Spurs lost 38-63 to Green Buffaloes while Napsa Breeze humiliated Spartress 61-8.
