In Summary
City Oilers only returned on Tuesday night from the
Fiba Africa Zone V Basketball Club Championship in Mombasa where they
finished third.
They are the two teams that have won the last two
titles and their clash at YMCA court today could shed some light on what
lies ahead in the season.
Oilers have won 11 of 12 already whereas Warriors
have fully recovered from their early season stutter and are on a
three-match winning streak that includes wins over Diamond in the Sun,
UCU and Vegetarian respectively. Youthful guard Sedar Sagamba has been
key to that renaissance, contributing 11 and 18 points in the last two
games.

Lessons learnt from the coast will be important for the champions who appear on course for an immediate return to the regional championship.

However, weather holds all the keys. Rain has
lately disrupted the league, forcing the postponement of 10 matches so
far and the fraternity can only sulk at the unavailability of the Lugogo
MTN Arena.
The ladies game promises to be an even more
entertaining affair with KCCA Leopards in line for a regular season
sweep over nemeses UCU Lady Canons having claimed the first two fixtures
55-52 and 58-45.
The expected return of current MVP Peace Proscovia
and Maureen Amoding (the 2010 MVP), both having missed the Zone V event
for either side should add spark to the affair. Action starts at 6:30pm
