Uganda: Kampala, Hergeisa Teams Arrive for Inter-City Basketball Tournament

PREPARATIONS for the East Central and Africa Inter-city Basketball tournament set to start on Tuesday are in top gear, as teams from invited cities are expected to arrive in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
The president of Intercities Basketball tournament committee, Simon Msoffe told the 'Sunday News' that among the cities which are scheduled to arrive on Sunday ready for the event are Hargeisa and Garowe from Somalia and Uganda's Kampala.
Msoffe said Hargeisa and Garowe cities teams from Somalia are expected to jet in today by air while Kampala team will reach Dar es Salaam by road for the event that will kick off on Tuesday and run until Sunday at the National Indoor Stadium.
"The teams which have confirmed to take part in the event will start arriving from tomorrow (today) and the last team will arrive on Monday (tomorrow) ready for the event," Msoffe said.
The event which has attracted cities of Nairobi, Mombasa from Kenya, Kampala (Uganda), Juba and Citizen (South Sudan), Mogadishu, Hargeisa and Garowe which is team formed with Somalia Diasporas, Addis Abba (Ethiopia), Cairo (Egypt), Tanga and the host city Dar es Salaam will miss the men's category defending champions Uganda's Mukono who will has failed to defend their title due to financial constraint.
