Basketball in Africa

RAYON SPORTS Association management is planning to establish a basketball club which will feature in next year’s basketball league.
“We found it necessary to have a basketball team named after Rayon Sports so as to keep up with our mission of promoting unity and togetherness of Rwandan people as well as developing sports in the country,” Theogene Ntampaka, the Chairperson of Rayon Sports Association told Saturday Sports.
Ntampaka noted that sport is an important tool to help achieve the goal of togetherness.
“A Basketball team alongside the football and volleyball clubs is the right channel through which our Rwandan values will be progressively unearthed,” he added.
Rayon Sports basketball club will be the 12th club in the top flight basketball league of which Espoir BBC is the defending champion.
