KENYA : Ulinzi Hit Mennonites in Premier League Ball Battle

ULINZI "Warriors humiliated Mennonites 85-34 in a low key premier league basketball clash at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium. The former six time champions had a strong 38-14 advantage at the breather.
Eric Mutoro sunk 22 points while Victor Odendo collected another 21. The losers who only managed to post double figures in the third quarter, recorded 14 from Felix Odhiambo. Mennonites hit Kenyatta University "Pirates" 69-54 behind 38 points from Collins Ochieng.
Blades cut KU "Pirates" 93-51 in a one sided game that saw Edwin Otula make 21 points and Robert Hope add 19. KU had 14 from George Okoth and 13 from Jackton Agunda.
At the Makande Welfare hall in Mombasa, champions Kenya Ports Authority whipped Co-operative Bank of Kenya 63-46 as Yvonne Akinyi exploded for 19 points while Lynette Juma shot the bankers 16. Ulinzi "Blades" cut former champions Eagle Wings 61-60 in a duel that saw Bridgit Nanzala manage 16 points and Rebecca Sarange scored 14.
Wings had 14 from Lucy Machuma and 13 from Annerose Atieno. The other game in Nairobi saw Betty Kananu race for 23 points as Kenyatta University "Oryx" thumped winless Mennonites 57-15.
