NIGERIA : Basketball Federation Organises Pre-Season Forum, to Announce League Commencement
The Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, will converge in Abuja on Thursday for the stakeholders/pre-season forum as well as a seminar to brainstorm on the way forward for the growth of basketball in Nigeria.
The annual event will take place in Abuja.
The president of the NBBF, Tijanni Umar, confirmed this to PREMIUM TIMES.
He said "the Stakeholders/pre-season forum will hold, Thursday, at the Auditorium of Abuja National Stadium, Package B, while the seminar for coaches, technical officials as well as referees will hold on Friday and Saturday at the same venue. It is a three days event," he said.
There are two leagues run by the federation and the sponsor of each the league is expected to present papers at the forum. The sponsors are Dstv for the Dstv Premier League and Zenith Bank, for the Zenith Bank Women's league.
The 2012/2013 basketball league season will be reviewed and a date for the 2013/2014 season is expected to be announced.
