RWANDA : Espoir set to retain B-ball play-offs title

Defending champions Espoir are set to retain the basketball men’s play-offs title on Saturday if they beat KBC in Game Three of the best of five after winning Game Two76-59 Friday evening at Amahoro indoor stadium.
Espoir, who easily won Game One 77-49 on Wednesday at the same venue, are now one game away from winning both the regular season title and play-off finals trophy for consecutive season with an unprecedented unbeaten record.
Former APR and CSK small forward Lionnel Hakizimana scored the game high of 21 points, Olivier Shyaka and last season’s MVP Aristide Mugabe added 15 and 13 points respectively for reigning champions, while Ali Kubwimana and Patrick Buzangu scored 20 and 17 points respectively for KCB, who were champions in 2011.
In women’s category, defending champions APR beat RAPP 53-45 in Game One of the best of three play-off finals.
