KENYA : Ulinzi Trounce Arya Girls to Romp Into NBA Finals


ULINZI "Blades" reached the 2013 Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) women's finals with an easy 62-30 win over Parklands Arya girls. The soldiers will now meet the winners between Footprints and Gladiators, who are tied 2-2 in the best of five semi-finals series.
Rebecca Sarange scored 15 points for Ulinzi while the school girls had 9 from Melvin Iminza. Footprints embarrassed Gladiators 46-26 margin to deadlock the series at 2-2 apiece.
Peris Magembe and Seline Okumu each posted 12 points for the winners. The men's semi final matches are also tied 1-1 after Dankind Academy and Baraka Xtreme all won game two of the series. Dankind hit Mt. Kenya University Thika 51-43 as Emmanuel Atega and John Jock each registered 12 points for the winners. Barakawent past Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture ad Technology (JKUATS) Juja 62-56 in a close match.
Iddi Shaban led the winners with 13 points while the students had 21 from Michael Munene. Meanwhile, the six teams for the national provincials play offs in Mombasa this weekend have been named. They are Africa Nazarene University (ANU), Barclays Bank Eagles, Dankind, JKUATS Juja, MKU Thika and Baraka.
