Ndejje finally break garbage time jinx as Falcons edge KIUPhoto Credits: Basketball256 After the adversity of losing more than four games at crunch time, Ndejje University Angels at last broke the jinx. Walker Obedi’s celebration at the sound of the final buzzer said it all.
Ndejje held on to beat Dmark Power 67-61 on Wednesday afternoon at YMCA. Geoffrey Soro was back in the productive-self pacing Angels (15-6) with game high 19 points. Brian Odur added 16 points and Jonah Otim contributed 11 points.
Michael Kojo had 13 points and 11 rebounds off the bench to lead Power (17-3). Ben Komakech and Paul Odong contributed 12 points apiece and Norman Blick had 11.
Meanwhile, Falcons’ defensively and offensively dominant fourth quarter helped them to edge KIU Titans 65-62. Philip Ameny scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Falcons (12-9). Abdullahi Ramadhani added 12 points and Serge Kabangu has 11 points and 8 rebounds.
Francis Kasekende had game high 17 points off the bench to pace Titans (13-7). Julius Lutwama and Chris Omanye chipped in with 10 points each. Edwin Katerega had 8 points and 10 boards.
In the women’s division, Zaina Lokwameri had season-high 30 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort for Nabisunsa as school side fell to KIU Rangers 77-68. Judith Nansobya was back for KIU and managed 16 points off the bench. Aisha Nakabubi scored team high 17 points. Morren Atulinda had a 13 and 11 performance while Florence Nanyonga had 12 points.
A1 Challenge beat KCCA Leopards 75-70. Forward, Hatima Kassim scored 17 points to lead the way for Challenge (12-8). Vickie Ntale added 15 points. Olivia Mulwana and Mariam Birungi contributed 11 points each.
Claire Lamunu had game high 22 points and 12 boards to lead Leopards (15-5). Flavia Oktcho added 15 points, made 4 assist and 7 steals. Muhamiina namuwaya had 8 points and 12 rebounds.
