KENYA : Thunder Strike Terrorists' in Premiership Match

THUNDER struck University of Nairobi 'Terrorists' 62-42 in a Premier League clash at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium.
The winners took the first quarter 15-8 and were up 28-22 at the break before going full throttle in the last two quarters with a 15-5 and 19-15 edge. Griffin Ligare nailed 18 points for the self-supporting Thunder ,who are pushing for the top. Collins Odhiambo managed 12 for Terrorists.
Strathmore University "Blades" clobbered Mennonites 83-56 in an easy tie after taking a huge 51-28 half time scoreline. Geoffrey Oteki bagged 24 points for Tony Ochieng's side while Collins Ochieng topped the Knights with 14 points.
The ladies matches saw Denise Apondi bag eight points as Strathmore University "Swords" hammered Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University 45-14. The losers who posted no points in the third quarter had six points from Lydia Imbati.
Safe Spaces clobbered Western Delight 60-25 as Florence Mbithe collected 17 points and Evelyn Itabu made 14 points. The visiting Kakamega side--down 26-11 at the break--had eight from Constance Reya.
In the lower division matches, Strathmore University beat Trailblazers 51-44, behind 19 points from Peter Shilton and 11 from Michael Ligare. Shem Otieno posted the losers 12.
Upper Hill turned on the heat after four straight losses to dismantle Parklands Baptist 65-45 as Joseph Ongoro registered 22 points. Richard Adega scored the losers 15 points. World Hope stunned Umoja 43-39 as Evans Orenge posted 12 points and Rogers Ombati hit 14 for Umoja. Little Prince also nipped Zetech College 42-39 .
In the Nairobi Basketball League matches played at the Railways Club, top sorer Joel Atebe nailed 39 points as Don Bosco hammered CFC Stanbic 87-49.
Other matches saw Mount Kenya University (MKU) Thika beat Upper Hill 64-24, Barclays Bank beat Our lady Queen of Peace 51-40, MKU Nairobi lost 39-46 against Technical University of Kenya (TUK), Multi Media University (MMU) won 45-35 over United States International University (USIU) while Barclays Bank Eaglets whipped Zetech College 41-20.
