Nigeria: First Deepwater Tame Plateau Rocks 88-50

Reigning Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Zenith Bank Women Basketball League champions, First Deepwater Basketball Club, yesterday tamed Plateau Rocks Basketball Club by 88-50 points in a group-A game of the final-8 playoffs.
The three-time champion won in all four quarters by 21-10, 21-14, 21-08 and 25-18 points to maintain a hundred percent record and remain top of group-A.
The Coach Lateef Erinfolami tutored Oil & Gas ladies were equally in splendid performance on the opening day of the playoffs on Saturday with a 71-34 points victory over border girls Nigeria Customs basketball club.
The team will round-off it preliminary game against versatile Lagos-based Dolphins basketball club today.
Other results of the second day of the final-8 playoffs saw former champion First Bank basketball club winning it second straight game with a 71-45 points win over FCT Angels basketball club; Sunshine Angels basketball club of Akure defeated IGP Queens basketball club of Lagos by 55-47 points while Dolphins edged past Nigeria Customs by 83-62 points in an explosive game.
With results from the first and second days of the final-8 playoffs First Deepwater basketball club and Dolphins basketball club have both secured a semi-final ticket from group-A and whoever wins on Monday will top the group going into the semis while First Bank basketball club and Sunshine Angels of Akure are also through to the last four from group-B as the Monday last group game will see whoever win leading the group to the semi-finals slated for Thursday at the sports hall of the Lagos national stadium.
