KENYA : USIU Sides Impress in Zuku League
UNITED States International University (USIU) teams continued their superb start to the Zuku basketball league over the weekend. USIU "Tigers" beat Masinde Muliro University of Agriculture and Technology (MMUST) 81-54 with Jamal Mustafa posting 18 points. The losers had game high of 33 points from the league's top scorer Alex Lugasi.
The ladies side "Flames" doused University of Nairobi "Dynamites" 84-30, behind Hilda Indasi game high 11 points while her national team0mate Emma Nyakweba shot another 13. In another fixtures, Linda Mfuchi collected 14 points to lead a strong USIU charge as they clobbered Mt. Kenya University (MKU), Thika 59-6 in a one sided show.
Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculuture and Technology (JKUATS) thumped Maseno University 81-54 in a high scoring game. Guyton Kijuba shot 16 points while Richard Adega added another 13. Benaya Musimbi picked up 12 points to guide MKU Thika to a 45-21 thrashing of the visiting Moi University. Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) blanked Daystar 31-27 . Patrick Ruto posted 12 for CUEA while David Julius scored 9 for the losers.
