KENYA : KBF Division One League wrap up

On Sunday there were two matches played in the Kenya Basketball Federation Division One League at the Nyayo Gymnasium with debutants Little Prince and Strathmore ‘B’ in action.
Strathmore were up against Parklands and the Madaraka based students beat their opponents 69-53 taking the 1st quarter20-18, drawing with Parklands 11-11 in the 2nd quarter to put the half time scores at a close 31-29.
In the 3rd quarter Strathmore took the lead once more when they got 18 points against Parklands' 15 points but took the day with a resounding 20-9 win in the last quarter. Peter Shilton sunk in 26 points for Strathmore followed by Huga Ayara with 17 points while Richard Adega had 12 points to his name for Parklands.
In the other match Umoja were surprised by Little Prince when they went down 51-43 to the newcomers of the league. The two teams drew 15-15 in the 1st quarter but in the 2nd quarter Little Prince overwhelmed Umoja with 14 points against 7 to put the half time scores at 29-22 in favor of Little Prince.
The 3rd quarter saw Little Prince trounce Umoja 14-6 and despite losing the last quarter 8-15 they had done enough to take the 2 league points home. Erick Ruben had 16 ponts for Umoja the highest in the match while Elvis Mwangi gave the winners of the match 10 points.
The league resumes over the coming weekend.
