KENYA : KBF Boss Directs All Counties to Hold Elections Before End Month

The Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) have directed all counties to hold elections by the end of this month. KBF chairman Paul Otula said: "All the 47 counties have until the 31st of this month to hold elections."
He said there for the counties to formulate offices in order to start developing the game from the grassroots. "At the moment, we have equipment that we want to send to the grassroots but we can't do it because we don't have offices," added Otula, who is also the principal of Maseno School.
Speaking at Cardinal Otunga High School during the ongoing Lake Region secondary school games, Otula said the federation has 150 balls, game clocks and nets that should be distributed to branches.
He said once the offices are formulated, the federation will facilitate the training of coaches at the grassroots.
"As a federation, we want to expose and tap young talent right from the grassroots," added Otula, who also coaches Maseno School. He said the standards of the game in Nyanza have improved drastically.
"I have been here since Wednesday and I can assure you that the game is growing," Otula added. "The school games are becoming more competitive and as the KBF chairman, I am happy with that," he added.
