The first game kicks off at the SK West Basketball Court between YMCA and SK West. It started with prayer with both teams and officials in remembrance of their colleague and friend among them was his sister who represented the family.
It was a thrilling encounter which saw SK West dominating the first half of the game and had a half time lead of 27:11 which is a 16-point lead.
Things began to change late in the second half, when YMCA began to close the gap to 10 points with 5 minutes to play which frustrated the west team.
But with the good defence of SK West and playing on home court they managed to secure a win and the game ended 44 to 35.
Games will continue this Sunday with Brikama playing against SK East.
