KENYA : Peace Shows Kicks Off Coast League Season
Coast Basketball Association (CBA) kicks off season this weekend with the Peace tournament at High Level estate in Docks. Schools and clubs have been invited for the event that will mark the first event of the 2013.
The event will be used as a took to promote peace and tranquility in the coast region ahead of the March 4 General Elections. CBA chairman Ali Hilmy said participation fee is Sh1,500 which will go towards the organisational costs.
"This tournament will be used to caution the youths not to be misused by unscrupulous politicians to cause chaos before, during and after the polls.
He said apart from the peace awareness, the event serve as a build up especially for secondary schools currently preparing for regional show. He called on schools and local clubs to confirm their participation by tomorrow morning to facilitate pooling ahead of the event on Saturday morning.
