KENYA : Shauri Moyo Take Positive Basketball Title At Railway

SHAURI Moyo beat Kayole 46-26 to win the Positive Teenage girls tournament at Railways Club over the weekend. The impressive Shauri Moyo also won the boys U 17 when they beat Kibera 24-21 while Kibera was not left behind as they blanked Mennonites 13-6 in the boys U 12 match.
The week long clinic brought together 80 teenagers from the four centers namely Shauri Moyo, Kayole, Mennonites and Kibera. Victoria Mwikali (Shauri), Oscar Amukoya (Kibera U 15), Maxwell Esemele (Shauri U 17) were named Most Valuable Playerrs (MVP) in their categories.
Wendy Achieng (Shauri), Alex Mbendo (Shauri) and Neal Kaida (Mennonites) exhibited great skills during the games and were recorgnised when they got the Most Promising Players (MPP) awards. The trophies and medals were presented by former Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) chairman Agina Wesonga and Co-operative Bank national team guard Linda Alando who was given the honours to address the youngsters.
She advised them to observe discipline and never give up. The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Also present were Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) officials.
