Aketcho and teammates have always struggled to cope with the UCU ladies in size especially during offense. They managed 33 rebounds while UCU picked up 52 in game three alone.
Aketcho managed 17-point s and was only matched by UCU’s Maureen Amoding. Aketcho denies that size is letting them down but rather their inexperience.
“I don’t think size is an issue because we have one big player so do they,” Aketcho said. “What they would win us with is experience because of our players have played basketball 2, 3three years yet for them they have been playing basketball nearly throughout high school,” she added.
KCCA last won the league in 2009 but have been getting close only to be denied by UCU. “We are grooming people from down and they already have the experience so for us it’s a learning process and make our team stronger if we win it’s a plus.”
The two sides meet again on Wednesday for Game four at the Lugogo MTN Arena. Falcons will be taking on Kyambogo Warriors after the former stretched the series to 2-1 when they won Game 3 81-65 in Wandegeya on Sunday.
