In a league where not many points are assisted, Omondi dropped nearly 5 dimes every game as well as scoring in double figures on average and picking up to 8 rebounds. Falcons’ starting point guard was one of the best defensive back court players in the league. He posted the only triple-double of the season in Falcons’ 80-67 win over Miracle in April with a 10-11-10 performance.

#2. Ben Komakech
He carries the ball up the court for Dmark Power. However, most of his scoring is not off drives to the rim but off mid and long range jumpers. The former MVP engineered Power’s offense and contributed massively on the score board. He is one of the best shooters of the ball in the league and was the only constant on Power’s team throughout the season.

#3. Steven Omony
He is probably the most versatile player in the league. The veteran player can carry the ball across the court, create plays, shoot and post as well. For Falcons to leapfrog from nearly relegation last season to a second seed this year and eventually make the playoff finals, they needed plenty to break in their favour. One of those was bringing Omony back home from Miracle. He was in incredible form throughout the regular season playing MVP basketball and averaging a double-double.

#4. Geoffrey Soro
If there is anything most fans and journalists agreed on, it was the fact that Ndejje Angels’ forward, Soro was one of the best if not the best player of the first round. With little help from Jonah Otim and Michael Opolot, the forward led Ndejje to the ANBL playoffs. He also played MVP basketball but his quest will only be affected by the position of his team in the regular season.

#5. Philip Ameny
There has been no better center (by all parameters) in the league this season than Falcons’ center, Philip Ameny. The big man made his presence down the post felt in every game. Not many big men can shoot from the line but Ameny has a relatively good foul shot which also puts him well above other centers in the leagues leaving alone the scoring, rebounding and posting advantage that he already holds.

The second team is made up of KIU’s point guard, Salim Ali, Warriors’ shooting guard, Sirus Kiviri who had a big season after joining from Ndejje. KIU’s Richard Osano, UCU’s Martin Okwako and KIU’s center, Michael Makiadi complete the front court.
Miracle’s Yusuf Mohamed, UCU’s Suudi Ulanga, Power’s Joseph Ikong, Falcons’ Peter Elungat and Miracle’s Ivan Lumanyika make the third team.
