UGANDA : KCCA puts UCU in tight corner

KCCA’s resilience in the last two games of the women’s national playoffs finals against UCU have shown that they are ready to go down without a fight.
Inspired by Flavia Oketcho, who had a game high of 19 for KCCA to level the series 2-2 The City authorities side beat the defending champions 53-50 in a game where every ball was contested.
KCCA dominated three of the four quarters 16-7, 11-10, 16-12, only losing the second 21-10.
Purity Odhiambo sunk 17 for her side UCU, in a game the 2009 champions still struggled in the air, KCCA managed 32 rebounds compared to UCU’s 51.
It was Character and mental strength according to KCCA coach Timothy Odeke.
“Level of motivation and teamwork stepped up the small mistakes we did in the first two games and we corrected them,” Odeke said.
KCCA managed 12 points from the three throws from a possible 62 compared to UCU’s nine out of the 21 attempts.
“We also corrected the charity line where we have been sluggish, even our execution was too far away better than the first two games we played,” Odeke added.
Game five will be played on Friday at the MTN Arena in Lugogo as UCU chase a triple while KCCA are looking for their first since 2009.
