The Kenya Basketball Federation league play offs will this weekend enter a crucial stage with the final two matches of the semi finals best of three play offs being staged in Nairobi and Mombasa respectively.
Defending champions Eagle Wings in the women category carry a first match win to Mombasa where they face their fierce rivals KPA in a potentially explosive fixture at the Makande Hall.
If Eagle Wings carry the day on Saturday then they will be in the finals for the second year in a row and will meet either USIU or Coop Bank who play in the other semi finals also this weekend in Nairobi. USIU Flames led by Hilda Indasi have the first win from last weekend’s victory.
KPA coach Anthony Ojukwu says the team that plays well on Saturday will carry the day and there will be no room for errors on the day.
“Eagle Wings is a good side, very tactical and energetic in their style of play. We were relaxed and allowed them to stretch away from us last weekend but we have worked on our mistakes and as we welcome them to our den we hope to carry the day on Saturday and push the match to game 3.”He said ahead of the match set for Saturday afternoon.
The winner of the semi final will qualify for the finals that will be played next weekend in Nairobi.
