KENYA : KBF finals play offs kick off on Wednesday

The Kenya Basketball Federation Premier League and Division One will head into the play-offs finals from Wednesday the 12th December. There will be a total of 6 teams in action with two teams from the Division One while the Premier League will have 4 teams (two teams from the ladies category and the same number from the men’s category).
In the Premier League ladies 2011 Defending Champions Eagle Wings will face USIU Flames in game one at the Nyayo Gymnasium from 3 pm. USIU qualified for the finals after beating Co-op Bank 52-48 in game three of the semi-finals after they were tied at 1-1 in the first 2 matches of the best of three series.
Eagle Wings on the other hand gained automatic qualification to the finals after they beat Mombasa based KPA in game one (56-49) and two (60-53) and now have a chance to defend their title against a charged up Flames.
In the men’s finals the USIU will be represented once more with the Tigers coming against Co-op Bank who will also be defending their title. Co-op Bank beat rivals KCB Bank 74-59 last Sunday to win their game 3 and book a spot in the finals while USIU Tigers travelled to the KPA Gymnasium and beat the hosts 70-59 in game 2 after winning game one 104-89 in Nairobi.
The Division One match will see Nairobi Aviation travel to Nakuru where they will face Nakuru Club at the Menengai High School.
