KENYA : UON's 'Terrorists' Go Down One Division

UNIVERSITY of Nairobi "Terrorists" have been demoted to the national Division One, Kenya Basketball Federation have announced. Joseph Amoko, the KBF competitions secretary confirmed the campus lads who lost 61-56 to Blazers over the weekend will move down.
He also said the fate had been sealed for Kisumu Lakeside who were kicked out of the top league a few weeks ago for not honouring fixtures.
"Since the Lakesiders had been kicked out, we have decided only one team will move to the lower division. We will promote two to bring the number of teams at the top to 12," Amoko said.
He said the division will now accomodate three teams with one filling in the void left by Lakeside. Equity Bank and Strathmore University moved up after the provincial play offs in Muranga over the weekend.
"We have already got two teams from the inter provincial play offs in Muranga, we will decide on the third. It will most likely be Little Prince who were third in Muranga." he said. In the ladies category, two teams will face the axe to be replaced by Nairobi Basketball Association finalists Kenyatta University "Oryx" and Strathmore.
