KENYA : Ulinzi Shoot Down Masinde Muliro

FORMER national champion Ulinzi Warriors thumped Masinde Muliro University of Agriculture and Technology (MMUST) 75-42 in a Premier League clash at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium.
The soldiers got off to a strong start and went to the break with a 35-26 advantage. William Otieno led Ulinzi tally with game high of 24 points while Bernard Mfutu nailed another 14.
For the Kakamega based students, Fredick Osore collected 20 and Wena Sialo posted 6. At the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Welfare Hall in Mombasa, the hosts posted wins against the visiting Strathmore University teams. KPA men's team pipped Strathmore 65-60 while the ladies also won 45-27.
In the lower division, Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) hammered Umoja 79-53, Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University thrashed Trailblazers 63-40 and Kenyatta University "Pirates" whipped Emyba 82-32. KU 'Oryx' will meet Strathmore University in the 2012 Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) women's final game. Oryx shut out Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUATS) 45-37 in the decisive game three.
Betty Kananu led the way with 17 points and Mariel Ayen added 9 for the finalists. JKUATS had a combined 16 from Claire Kimeli and Silvia Hassan.
In the men's classification matches for the third/fourth, Mike Ngugi scored 21 points to lead Barclays Bank Eagles to a 56-46 win over Little Prince who had 18 from Malek Lino.
Zetech College dismissed JKUATS Juja 52-42 in another tie. Joshua Okumu nailed 14 points for the winners while top three pointer Kijuba Guyton scored 10 for the Juja side.
