KENYA : USIU Torch Blazers as Eagle Wings Fly Over Strathmore

UNITED States International University (USIU) torched Blazers 57-33 in a Premier League encounter at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium.
Tigers, who had lost to KCB Lions 90-84 the previous day, dominated the proceedings and were pepped by Alvin Nyangweso who collected 11 and Evans letting (10). Jafeth Areba scored the losers' 12 points.
The women champions Eagle Wings beat Strathmore University 64-35 behind Angela Okoth's 15 points and Shilalei Shani's 12. The speedy Melissa Akinyi bagged the students 14.Leading scorer Hilda Indasi scored 24 points as USIU Flames doused Sprite Storms 57-44. Linet Mukiri made the losers 12.
In the lower division matches, Kenyatta University "Pirates" continued their climb with a 53-44 win over Parklands Baptist while Upper Hill clobbered Emyba 77-58. Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University won 53-49 over Umoja.
Meanwhile, Be Own will support Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) during next year's All Stars game, company founder/CEO Aly Samabaly disclosed yesterday.
He said he is impressed with the talent and effort by the branch officials to promote the sport. "We will work together to help young players with talent," he said.
