UGANDA : Warriors, Lady Canons post wins against KIU

KIU titansUnlike the first round when Kyambogo Warriors needed overtime to see off KIU Titans, all Warriors used were two big quarters (second and fourth) to pin a 14 point loss to Titans.
Titans (12-5) broke out out of the shell first with point guard, Salim Ali (11 points) openning the scoring with a mid-range jumper followed by two 3-balls from him and Richard Osano (12 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists) and Titans taking the first period 19-13. Warriors (16-1) responded in the second quarter, took the lead for the first time through Syrus Kiviri’s corner triple and did not trail again.
Four warriors scored in double figures. Norman blick led the way with 16 points, Ronnie Kasewu and Syrus Kiviri with 15 points each and Henry Malinga scored 11 points. Ali, Osano and Moses Olobo (8 points) tried to engineer a fourth quarter push and KIU were on the road to redemption but the tragedy of vast proportions occurred in the final seven minutes when Osano fouled out and Olobo got into foul trouble including a technical that saw him get ejected in garbage time.
