UGANDA : Falcons stay ahead of Warriors at summit

Joshua Etalu, Michael Makiadi and Richard Osano Omondi lead KIU to 88-49 win over Stormers.
Falcons continue to stay in contention for the regular season top spot in the Airtel National Basketball League. The former champions beat Miracle Eagles 66-43 at YMCA court on Saturday for a 10th successive victory to improve their record to 15-2.
Stephen Omony fell just two assists short of a triple double with a game-high 15 points and 12 rebounds. Julius Lutwama scored 12 points and Geoff Omondi had 11 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
Temporarily, Falcons, whose last title came in 2007, became the leaders ahead of Warriors 14-1, albeit playing two games more.
However, the regular season ‘champion’ will come down to the final three games when Falcons face Warriors, DMark Power and KIU Titans, one after the other.
