RWANDA : Good start for APR in 'Agaciro' tourney

APR basketball club started off from where they left last season by dominating the first two days of the pre-season competition dubbed Agaciro Development Fund tournament.
The Agaciro tournament started on Saturday where Espoir beat Kigali Institute of Education 57-37 before APR overcame Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK) 52-47. The league champions made it two wins out of two by thumping UGB 81-56 on Sunday.
The tournament will continue on Wednesday with Cercle Sportif de Kigali hosting UGB at Amahoro Indoor Stadium and on Thursday Kigali Institute of Education will entertain Kigali Basketball Club.
The semi finals, in both the men and women categories, will be played on Saturday. In the women’s fray, APR will take on Rwandans Allied for Peace (RAPP). Only two teams entered for the women’s competition.
According to Rwanda Basketball Federation Secretary General Richard Mutabazi, the first two days of the competition, entrance was free, but starting Wednesday, fans will be charged.
Ferwaba is the second sporting federation, after Ferwafa, which has organised competitions aimed at raising funds to contribute towards the Agaciro Development Fund.
