Rwanda: Ferwaba Organises Agaciro Tourney

RWANDA Basketball Federation (Ferwaba) is organising a pre-season tournament aimed at raising money for the Agaciro Development Fund.
We have requested all clubs to willingly contribute and it is through this tournament that we will raise money which will go directly into the Fund.
The Ferwaba Secretary General, Richard Mutabazi said they have requested all the clubs to contribute to Agaciro Fund.
"We have requested all clubs to willingly contribute and it is through this tournament that we will raise money which will go directly into the Fund," added Mutabazi.
Clubs will also use the tournament to prepare for the next season, which is slated to begin on September 29.
The tournament is planned to be played over the weekend at Amahoro indoor stadium.
Ferwaba is the second sporting federation, after Ferwafa, which will be contributing to the national cause.
Ferwafa is hosting a four-day tournament, which has attracted ten clubs, to mobilise money for the Agaciro Development Fund.
The tournament started yesterday with La Jeunesse, SC Kiyovu, Rayon Sport, AS Kigali, APR, Amagaju, Police, Musanze, Mukura VS, AS Muhanga battling for honours.
The semi finals will be played on Saturday and the final on Sunday. On the same day, in Rubavu, archrivals Etincelles and Marines will clash at Umuganda stadium in a match designed for the same purpose.
Proceeds from all the matches will go into the Agaciro Development Fund, which was created to help speed up national development.
