Rwanda: Eight Teams for 'Agaciro' Tournament

Eight teams will compete in the 'Agaciro' Basketball tournament whose proceeds will go into the 'Agaciro Development Fund', according to the local basketball governing body, (Ferwaba) Secretary General Richard Mutabazi.
The tournament starts today with six teams entering for the men's competition and two will battle in the women's fray.
The six teams in men category are divided into two groups where group A includes Kigali Basketball Club, Espoir and Kigali Institute of Education, while group B is composed of APR, UGB and CSK. The women's category has APR and Rwandans Allied for Peace (RAPP).
"We want to be part of developing the country which why the (basketball) federation came up with the idea of this tournament," Mutabazi said.
On Saturday APR will host UGB at Rafiki courts in Nyamirambo in the morning before KBC take on Espoir in the afternoon on the same venue.
On Sunday, Espoir will play against KIE while CSK will host APR at Rafiki. The tournament will continue on Wednesday when KIE play with KBC at Amahoro Indoor stadium courts. The semi finals in both categories will be played on Saturday and the finals Sunday at Amahoro.
