UGANDA : On song Falcons take on Marines

Falcons are the in-form team. Hitherto written off following off court troubles, the former champions have turned the tables and look every inch the team to beat in the Airtel National Basketball League.
With 11 wins and only two losses to their name, Falcons have made their intentions clear so far: they are clear title contenders.
They dismissed Heaters 83-43 at the weekend for their sixth consecutive league victory and come into today’s game against Nkumba Marines at YMCA Wandegeya as favourites. Marines, champions in 2005 and 2006, have recorded mixed results thus far, winning five and losing eight.
When the two sides met in the first round, Marines received a clear beating, going down 80-44 Falcons take on the university side today at YMCA on a momentum of two wins in a row against Heaters (83-43) at the weekend and Vegetarians 67-30.
The two sides last met in the Airtel first round match where Falcons hammered Marines 80-44. To avoid another humiliation, Marines must stop Douglas Uwereza, who has been on fire for Falcons of late, scoring 15 points or more in most recent games, Stephen Omony and Philip Alweny.
