Sarah Nakitende scored game high 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to power Magic Stormers to a 65-63 win over KCCA Leopards. The foward has a hot shooting evenning going 6-for-9 from the field and 4-of-8 on the line to lead Stormers to the victory over the league giants. Carol Nyafwono added 11 points, 11 boards and blocked 3 shots.
Trailing 26-34 at halftime, Stormers came up with a big third quarter out-scoring Leopards 22-12 and matching former champions shot for shot in the final period. Leopards' guard, Flavia Oketch was limited to 9 points and failed to overcome the shooting slump as she went 0-for-8 from inside and 1-for-4 beyong the arc. Martha Soigi paced Leopards with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Carol Badaru, Carol Nantolo and Joy Chemutai chipped in with 8 points each. Stormers turnedover the ball 30 times but compesated with a 44-36 rebounding advantage. Racheal Nanyonga and Monica Nassuna added 8 points each for Stormers.
Meanwhile, Crane High Ladies edged Amazon Rhino 46-45. Ritah Imanishimwe led Crane High with 17 points and Sarah Ageno added 16 points and 18 rebounds, 10 offensive. Belinda Feni's game high 18 points were in a losing effort.
UCU Lady Canons stayed unbeaten with a 65-45 win over Nabisunsa. Peace Proscovia scored 20 points and picked 11 rebounds for Lady Canons and the urguably best post player in the division, Purity Adhiambo added 14 points. Ruth Nakitto pilled up 19 points for Nabisunsa.
In the men's division, there was no problem for DMark Power without point guard Ben Komakech as they beat Vegetarian 68-46. Emmanuel Enabu led Power (11-4) with 16 points and Isaac Luggudde added 12. Power attempted season low 8 free throws. Darius Erem paced Vegetarian (2-13) with 10 points and 11 boards.
Ivan Lumanyika's double-double (19 points, 14 rebounds) was not enough to see Miracle past UCU Canons as Suudi Ulanga's game high 24 points paced the university side to a 70-62 win.
