UGANDA : Falcons continue to chase leaders Warriors

The pursuit of Airtel National Basketball League leaders Warriors is becoming a one-man show. As DMark Power, KIU Titans and UCU Canons have fallen off the pace, Falcons are striking the right codes.
The former champions decimated Victoria University Heaters 83-43 over the weekend for a sixth successive victory at YMCA court. Falcons now have a formidable record at 11-2, behind Warriors, who have breezed to 13-1. Champions Power, routed 75-56 by Warriors, KIU, 64-38 victors over Rez Life and UCU, who beat Vegetarian 54-42, are all tied at 10-4 after the weekend games.
All the top eight sides will make the playoffs. The higher a team finishes the regular, the easier the draw for the quarters. Douglas Uwizera scored a game-high 15 points for Falcons whose position now puts them in frame to face the seventh seed. All 12 players except Julius Lutwama (zero) managed at least two points to stop Heaters’ winning streak at two. Elsewhere, Miracle Eagles beat free-falling Ndejje University Angels 50-41 for a fourth victory in a row.
Andrew Opio’s 19 points and 14 rebounds put them at 8-6, a run that has included a victory over Power
