UGANDA : Clutch Kasewu leads Warriors past Power, A1 sparks MUK

warriors powerRonnie Kasewu scored 11 of his 15 points in the final quarter and added 10 rebounds as Kyambogo Warriors beat DMark Power 75-56 on Friday night.
After scoring just 4 points in the first 3 quarters, the guard went on rampage in the final quarter knocking down back-to-back 3-balls that took Warriors (13-1) into double digit lead with 6:09 to the final buzzer.
Syrus Kiviri (11 points) Henry Malinga (14 points, 9 rebounds) and Ivan Enabu (8 points) kept Warriors with in striking distance in the first half, as Joseph Ikong (15 points) Isaac Luggudde (12 points) and Ben Komakech (8 points) were piling up points for Power (10-4) in the two periods.
Power leading 44-41 with 2:20 in the 3rd quarter, Warriors' center, Micheal Kariuki hit a game tying 3-pointer and Jude Ochen sunk a go ahead jumper from the top of the mountain on the next possession 10 seconds later to give Warriors a lead for the second time in the game. Last year's losing finalists went on a 12-0 run to close the quarter and out scored Power 20-9 in the period to the run away victory. Power shot under 30% from the field and were 11-for-26 on the line.
Meanwhile in the women's division, A1 Challenge came from behind to beat MUK Sparks 42-37. Vickie Ntale lead A1 with 9 points, Mariam Birungi added 7 points and Liz Kizza chipped in with 6 and 11 rebounds.
