Uganda: Basketball - Focus Turns to Zone Five

Championship starts tomorrow at MTN Arena, Lugogo
The top cream of basketball in the region will converge for the FIBA Africa Zone V championship set to start tomorrow (Monday).
Action at the MTN Arena Lugogo, comes after the draw that was done at Pope Paul Memorial hotel today.
Over 20 teams from seven countries will be battling for supremacy in the men's and women's categories.
Hosts Uganda, like other countries, has lined up her top sided with league champions Power and Kyambogo Warriors the teams to watch in the men's category.
Power will look to a number of seasoned players including Ben Komakech, Isaac Afidra, Joseph Ikong and Jimmy Enabu for the top award.
The Warriors are also not short of the skilled manpower necessary for the event of this calibre.
The team has Ronnie Kasewu, Norman Blick, Sam Gombya, Henry Malinga, Cyrus Kiviri and Evan Enabu for the challenge.
The event, coming to Kampala again after the 2009 edition, will also have other Uganda clubs-UCU Lady Canons and KCCA in the women's category.
Domestic league champions UCU led by Peace Proscovia and KCCA that will look to Desire Birungi are also ready to battle for glory.
Burundi's Uranani, champions in the men's category and Kenya Ports Authority who have the women's crown, are expected to defend their titles. Other stars are in teams expected to come from Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia.
Meanwhile, Uganda Basketball Federation President Ambrose Tashobya, has called upon fans to turn up in numbers to support the country's representatives.
