Nigeria: NBBF to Hire Foreign Coach

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) is considering hiring a foreign coach for its men's team, D'Tigers.
SuperSport.com can report that this follows the decision of Ayo Bakare to leave his position as head coach of the men's basketball team after the 2012 Olympics in London.
A top official in the basketball federation disclosed that the body will discuss the matter when it reviews the performance of D'Tigers in the men's basketball tournament at the Olympics.
"As it is a foreign technical adviser is the option before the federation after what we have seen at the Olympics. We need someone that will guide the team and other coaches after Mr Bakare decided to stand down," said the official to SuperSport.com.
The last foreign coach hired for D'Tigers was John Harding Lucas II.
The ex-Philadelphia 76ers coach led the Nigerian men's team to a fifth placed finish at the 2009 Fiba African Championship for Men.
