D'Tigers will tonight at 10.30pm play against Olympics defending champions USA in a match that the Nigerian side has already been written off. The United States team is rated number one in the world basketball ranking while Nigeria is 21.
On Tuesday Nigeria failed to beat Lithuania, ranked 5th in the FIBA ranking. But Ayo Bakare said his team is capable of springing surprises as he is in the Olympics to get very far."It is going to be five players against five on the court.
Playing against the US team today hasn't changed our resolve to win two matches and progress to the next round. It is impossible for us to be complacent now because this is the pinnacle of basketball.
We need to win and brighten our chances. It will be great to play against the Dream Team and it will be even greater to be in the quarter finals" He said
