Nigeria: Ahmadiya College Crash in Final to St Augustine, Ebonyi

Lagos — Ahmadiya College Kano on Saturday night lost in the finals of the boys Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship to unrated St Augustine Seminary School, Ezzangbo, Ebonyi State.
The Kano team who are rated after their impressive performance put up a disappointing show in the final against the Ebonyi side who got to the final after the Kwara lads were disqualified from the final for featuring an over-aged player.
The two time champions lost 15-13, 27-30, 36-46, 46-59 to the St Augustine lads.
In the ladies category, the St Judes Girls Secondary School of Bayelsa recorded a slim 30-25 victory over AGGS girls of Asaba to take the first prize.
Lagos State teams in the male and female categories, Unilag International School and Ajigbeda Girls Grammar School emerged third placed winners
The winners in both categories received a sum of N150,000 and a trophy while the first runners ups got the sum of N120,000. The second runners up went home with the sum of N100,000.
Ahmadiya College Coach Yakubu Dauda accepted the defeat in good faith but hinted that the officiating was biased, and that the ongoing Ramadan added to their woes.
